Student Safety

Student safety is embedded in every stage of our model, governed by a formal, multilayered framework.

01

Tutor vetting.

All tutors must hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and undergo a formal interview with our team. We also run automated monitoring of WWCC validity, which immediately alerts our team if a tutor’s check lapses or is no longer current, prompting immediate intervention.

02

Monitored communication.

All communications between students and tutors occur through a WhatsApp channel set up and monitored by the Operations team, and must adhere to the Ethical Education Communications Guidelines. Parents are also included in the WhatsApp chat between the tutor and student.

03

Mandatory reporting.

Every tutor is trained on our Care and Protection Obligation and Breach Procedure, which sets clear obligations for escalating welfare or safety concerns, with defined internal and external contacts, including medical and support services.

04

Virtual only classes.

All tutoring is delivered online, with no exceptions. In-person contact between tutors and students is strictly prohibited under all circumstances, removing a key risk present in traditional, in-home or in-person tutoring models.

A $50 donation can fund a whole term of tutoring.

We rely on the generosity of donors and community grants to keep providing for our students
